Are You A Risk Taker?

Are you a risk taker?       Do you like living day-by-day?

Would you like everyday to be an adventure?

Faith = risk taking.

If you said YES to the questions above then start your relationship with Jesus Christ today through faith. Everyday is a new adventure and never a dull moment!! :-)

It's as simple as ABC -

A - Admit you are a sinner (we all sin everyday - "For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God"
      Romans Chapter 3: verse 23)

B - Believe that Jesus died for your sins and arose from the grave on the 3rd day (" For God so loved the
world that He gave His only begotten son, that whosoever would believes in Him - would not perish
      but have everlasting life
." John 3:16)

C - Confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord. ("That if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation." Romans 10:9).

Friends, Family....A Help or Hurt?

Why is it that we don't always choose to spend our time with the right people?

The right people?  Hmmm....  Who are the right people?

Unfortunately, I had to learn this one the hard way...several times as I didn't quite catch on the first go around. You remember the saying, "fool me once - shame on you, fool me twice - shame on me"?

If there is anyone in your life (a friend, family member, co-worker, etc.) that has any of the following characteristics, or others I may have failed to mention...then you need to seriously reconsider how much time you spend with them.
  • Discourages you
  • Has a negative attitude in general
  • Puts you or the things you like down
  • Doesn't share your morals, ethics and/or beliefs
  • Uses you (a taker but never a giver)
  • Abuses you verbally or physically
"Since this world is filled with people who don't share our beliefs or values, we need relationships that stimulate and challenge us to become the people God wants us to be." - Dr. Charles Stanley

Try to surround yourself with people who will:
  • Encourage you
  • Appreciates you
  • Help you grow spiritually
  • Have a positive attitude
  • Speak the truth in love
("their advice isn't always comfortable, but it's always beneficial."
    - Dr. Charles Stanley).
  • Help hold you accountable
  • Sympathize with you
  • Share the same morals, ethics and/or beliefs
  • Be at least a 50/50 giver & taker
Which one are you to the people in your life?

No Chance After Rapture?

I just had a light bulb moment this week while listening to Dr. David Jeremiah.

I have always heard that after the Christians are raptured - that of those left behind lots will get saved.

While, that part is true and biblical - what I just discovered is also true, biblical and shocking is that only those who have never heard the gospel story before will be the ones to get saved.

Meaning, if someone has ever witnessed to you and or you've attended a church service or gathering in which you've heard about...Jesus dying on the cross for your sins and the sins of everyone in the world, that he was buried, but rose again on the 3rd day...but you did not believe nor did you accept Jesus into your heart then after the rapture has taken place, you will not be given the opportunity again.

Some have thought - "I'll just continue living however I want and if the rapture ever happens then I'll believe."

Don't be one of those people - because according to 2 Thessalonians chapter 2: verses 10-12, you will have waited too late - no one has that luxury.

"and with all wicked deception for those who are perishing, because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. Therefore God sends them a strong delusion, so that they may believe what is false, in order that all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness." (2 Tess. 2:-10).

If the scripture above were not true then there would be no reason for Christians today to have accepted the gospel message about Jesus Christ and started living their lives for Him instead of their self. Who doesn't want to be self-centered and do their own thing if they thought they would have the opportunity to get right with God in the end?

We don't have the promise of tomorrow....you or I could die this moment from a stroke, car accident, plane crash, fire, be murdered, and the list goes on. We don't determine our own destiny/death, so what makes us think that we can say no to God and still have the opportunity to say yes to Him later?

Just as a parent tells their rebellious child - "I won't tell you again!" before they punish them....so God only knocks at the door of each persons heart for so long before He stops.

Think of it this way, you set your alarm clock to wake you up in the mornings. If you hit the snooze button when the alarm goes off it waits approximately 5 min. before going off again.

If you hit the snooze button a 2nd time it may wait another 5 min. and go off again, but eventually the alarm will stop going off.

Don't play Russian roulette with your eternity!

The Lies Satan Tells Us

The Lies Satan Tells Us - started all the way back in Genesis with Adam and Eve and he's still telling them today to you and me!

When the serpent approached Eve in the garden - he lied to her in order to deceive her. Just as he does to you and me. 'He is the father of lies' (John 8:44).

He started out by asking her a question that he already knew the answer to, "Indeed, has God said, You shall not eat from any tree of the garden?" (Genesis 3:1).

"Satan often begins his temptations by questioning God's commands and suggesting that obedience is not really necessary. Don't fall for his trap!" (Dr. Charles Stanley).

You might recall this technique used by him in your own life as a teen with peer pressure to try drugs, alcohol and sex. "Everybody is doing it." "One can't hurt you." "Just try it one time." "If you really loved me - you'd...."

Satan takes it a step further with Eve by lying to her when he says, "You surely will not die!"

God doesn't have to tell us everything upfront. Just like our parents didn't always tell us everything upfront either when they told us not to do something. Though God had said, "You shall not eat from it or touch it, or you will die" (Genesis 3:3) - the part he left out was that there would not be a sudden physical death.

Adam did die, but not until he was 930 years old. "So all the days that Adam lived were nine hundred and thirty years, and he died." (Genesis 5:5).  Wait a minute!!!  Satan said to Eve, "You surely will not die!" so why did Adam die? Because, satan wasn't telling the truth.

God tells us, "be wise as serpents, but harmless as doves" (Matthew 10:16). Don't be fooled by the lies satan weaves for you.
